Frequently Asked Questions
Be aware of what you are storing in your container. Mattresses, fabric furniture, clothes, etc. can all bring a lot of moisture into the container. If you are in and out of it a lot on a humid or rainy day try to remember to crack the doors on the next warm day to let out some of the moisture. Another option is to buy a desiccant such as DampRid and set it in the container.
You should not store any hazardous material in the containers. As mentioned above mattresses, fabric, clothes, etc. can introduce a lot of moisture into the container but they are fine to store in the container. Some items that you may not want to store in a container are; leather of any kind, arts and crafts held together with glue, and photographs.
Privately owned containers must be empty, unlocked and accessible. Contact us for a transport quote.
No, we are not able to move loaded containers. Our trailers are only designed to transport empty containers.
All our containers are “cargo worthy” and wind and water tight. Sometimes it may appear a container is leaking when, in fact, it is condensation. Condensation happens one of two ways: Either the air is cooled to its dew point or it becomes so saturated with water vapor that it cannot hold any more water. Lack of ventilation and humidity control is what makes containers condensate. Typically, the container is not humid unless moisture is introduced into the container and then the door is locked. If you are in and out of it a lot on a humid or rainy day and you shut the doors you have essentially locked that moisture in the container and created a mini weather system. Usually condensation is not an issue in the warmer months. It is worse when there is a large swing in temperature.
